J-Rock ♥ Ocelot?

A recent google image search resulted in me happening across the archives of the French-language blog Susume ! and within them, an interesting discovery – that best-selling J-Rockers GLAY's 2006 single "Natsuoto" ("Summer Note/Sound") was accompanied by a video (view stills or watch online) and sleeve artwork which looks to be strongly influenced by Reiniger and Ocelot (in the silhouettes, African-ish style and even the choice of shots and contents) and also, for latter half of it, Larry Jordan. This was about a year before Ocelot would make a music video of his own with "Earth Intruders." It's just unfortunate that they (whoever they are; directors and staff of videos are never mentioned unless a famous anime studio is involved) use drawn animation rather than actual silhouette animation – not that that's bad in itself but with the same limited budget and time it necessitates a lower frame-rate and I find this one so jerky as to be difficult to watch.

This makes it the second occasion on which GLAY have been mentioned in the vicinity of Le Palais, as MORIMOTO Kôji directed the video for earlier single "Survival."
